Alcohol at Coachella

Hi all,

Im a 20 year old Norwegian concidering joining the 07 Coachella festival, purchasing tickets trough ebay or other connections...

In Norway, the age limit for alcohol is 18, and to me alcohol/beer is a natural and important part of live music and festival life.

I realize that the age limit for alcohol in the US is 21 years, som Im wondering how closely this is followed up. How close is the ID check at the tap? Is there any form of follow up on concert area or campsite on who drinks? What are consequenses if taken with false ID, or beer that someone else bought for you? Aslo some info on what areas of the festival that allow drinking would be nice.

If someone were to put down a few lines regarding these issues, it would be of great help to me.

The only drinking on festival grounds is in restricted beer garden areas. There are three of them and you can really only see/hear acts play from only one of the gardens. If you do want to drink, make sure you get in line to show your ID and get a wristband as early as possible, as the ID check lines get really long as the day goes on. Oh yeah, you may not want to drink too much if the weather is as hot as it usually is. Otherwise you'll be spent by the end of the day.

As far as the campgrounds, I camped three years ago onsite, and there was no alcohol allowed. But it sure seemed like it was fairly easy to sneak in. As long as you weren't obvious about it. This may not be the case anymore though.
