Depressive or Suicidal Black Metal

Sitting here in Front of my PC, listening to "the Ruins of Beverast", I just decided to open a thread, that deals with one of the most interesting subgenres in Black Metal. I talk about depressing Black Metal, often called "Suicidal Black Metal". I just made a list in which I wrote down all the bands I know, that could be considered as depressing; of course I didn't mention Bands like old Katatonia, Burzum or Nargaroth - there's no need to do, because everyone knows them, I guess ...

So, here's my list of Bands, playing real depressing Black Metal, I'd like you, to recommend some more Bands, playing this coint of BM.

I like depressive/melancholic black metal but when the lyrics are only about suicide its rather ridiculous. Singing about suicide and depression is not black metal anymore.
There is one bad thing in this subgenre: Nowadays there is too many assembly-line-suicidal-black metal bands with their drum machines and shitty lyrics which pisses me off.

The joy has been strangled by the terror, and the terror shall redeem the world.

As I see, I'll widen my horizons, because of these I know only Blut Aus Nord and Xasthur....But in my opinion, depressive don't have to be only with suicudal lyrics, it can the music itself

Hmm, than your horizon is really larger, having red this. Of course not all the bands I mentioned deal with suicide, few of them do but of course not as their only lyrical theme; as somebody said before it's the music itself, that makes depressive Black Metal - It even does not have to be about suicide.

I can recommend you DarkSpace as real great BM, haven't heard anything better for such a long time, but I wouldn't call them depressive, but for sure they have a great atmosphere.

Todtgelichter, is the only band on that list i haven't heard, or got material for :-( I was hoping for something new.

This reminds me, the new Blut Aus Nord is out in October apparently. The new Nyktalgia is out this winter also ... Cannot wait for that.

Kvist - For Kunster Maa Vi Evig Vike
One of my favourite depressive black metal albums.

I can also recommend Nortt if you like black metal inspired funeral doom.

I like to listen to such kind of music very much.
It's so emotional and hateful, that sometimes it maken me frighten and suffer.

Sykdom is also some kind of depressive Black Metal with Doom elements.

My beloved, how do I deserve to get this exorbitant affable threatment ? There's no need for you, to call me mr black metal encyclopedia - my volition was only, to recommend the bands I like and to get recommended some more.
Anyhow, concerning your suggestion I'm going to take a look for Luror - for now I know, they made a Split with Nachtfalke but actually I didn't paid them my attention. You are responsible, I'm going to do.

Yes, yes, it's a must, sir. I take the full responsibility for your choice. They (he, as it's a one man act) actually managed to release a full length after the split you mentioned, which is the thing I can blindly recommend to (almost) everyone.

This vicious calling was to show my admiration towards your knowledge of this special genre. For some it ends on Xastur and Nortt only (which actually play funeral doom for that matter..)
