Only heard a few James Blake tunes. But the great late Russell is pulsing strong. Has he made any reference to this in interviews? Does anyone care?

Arthur Russell there'll never be another artist like him :-) At least he left a great legacy & the promise of more stuff that's yet to be released :-)
