Valentine's on New Scotland Ave is probably the best place if you want that kind of variety, they play a pretty good mix of shows. Red Square used to be pretty decent but in the last few years has kind of fallen off the rails; you might be able to catch a good show there now and then.

Inthepitagain yeah yeah northern lights is okay. do you know any rock/indie/metal/punk/ska shit really anything? i havnt been able to find one place that place good music.

Northern Lights in Clifton Park has metal shows pretty much every week, that's probably the spot you're looking for.

albany's scene sucks from what i know. does anyone know of any bars in the area that plays any type of rock or metal type stuff and not the crap from fag island?
