Should user name be part of ipod association?

As Im tryng to troubleshoot my mounting ipod shuffle scrobbling problem, one thing that I have noticed that isnt consistent is when I look into Tools/Options and look into "Ipods" and I only occasionally see my user name associated with my Ipod

Is this always suppose to occur (have the username associated with an Ipod) and hence maybe one of my issues with scrobbling? Thanks!
