iTunes 10x only scrobbles current track -- doesn't keep history of songs played

  • iTunes 10x only scrobbles current track -- doesn't keep history of songs played

    Last.fm for Windows, version 1.5.4.27091
    Last.fm iTunes plugin, version 3.0.4.0
    iTunes 10.5.2.11
    Windows Vista

(Let me first say that Last.fm scrobbles fine if I use Windows Media Player. But since WMP uses so much resources, I began using iTunes instead.)

Last.fm will scrobble the current "Listening Now" song when I play a song using iTunes, but it will not keep the history of songs on my Last.fm page. When the next song starts, the last song that played doesn't count towards my playcount or show on my last.fm page.

I left my iTunes on and playing so you can see what I'm talking about. It should show a track playing -- but no history since December 11 (the last time I used Windows Media Player).

Known issue? Should I just go back to having a slow computer and use Windows Media Player?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Are the scrobbles cached in the Last.fm Scrobbler? Go to Help=>Diagnostics and hit "Reconnect" button. If this does not help, turn off the Last.fm Scrobbler. Then change your password on the site. Don't forget to change it later in the Last.fm Scrobbler.

  • The songs are scrobbling, the site is simply not keeping track of them. The website only shows a song that is currently playing. If the song stops, then there's nothing on the website.

  • Finally figured it out

Add C:/Program Files to approved list of directories allowed to scrobble.
