The Besnard Lakes

Following their breathtaking performance at the Hare & Hounds, Birmingham Promoters are very excited to be welcoming The Besnard Lakes back to Birmingham – they play The Institute on Wed 1st October 2014.

The four-piece progressive rock band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, were originally formed in 2003 by the husband and wife team of Jace Lasek and Olga Goreas. The band gained critical attention with their second album The Besnard Lakes Are The Dark Horse, with members of fellow Canadian bands Stars, The Dears, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor making guest appearances.

2013 saw the band pick up their third Polaris Prize nomination for their fourth studio album Until in Excess, Imperceptible UFO, released via Jagjaguwar to rave reviews and firmly cementing the quartet as one of Canada’s finest.

Einstellung

Einstellung formed in 2003 as an outlet for its members to blend their record collections, with a nod to Spiritualized, Neu, My Bloody Valentine and Black Sabbath amongst others. Not attempting to reinvent the wheel, Einstellung's manifesto is to enjoy each other's company, produce music that makes them laugh/cry and through the use of dynamics and texture, create an all-engulfing sense of now.
