描述
Over the last four decades Richard Youngs has sealed his reputation as one of the most uncompromising and eclectic experimental figures in the UK underground. Born in Cambridge and now living in Glasgow, his prolific work - released on labels such as Jagjaguwar and his own No Fans imprint - has covered everything from primitive folk ballads to fragmented minimalist soundscapes, fizzing industrial works to avante-garde synth pop. Alongside his solo work he has appeared in bands such as Astral Social Club, Concrete Hedge, No Deserts, Jandek and Future Pilot A.K.A, and has spent time collaborating with the likes of Andrew Paine, Luke Fowler, Heatsick, Kawabata Makoto and John Clyde-Evans.
“THE iconic figure of the modern UK underground … Richard Youngs evolves in the shadows where most won’t look, but those who do will forever be dazzled and amazed” – The Quietus
This exclusive three day residency - specially commissioned by independent promoters Cry Parrot as part of Glasgow Open House Art Festival- will take place in an intimate location in the West End, announced only to ticket holders. In key with his fearless eclecticism, each night will see Richard perform a completely different set. On the final night he will take to the basement of The Roxy on Great Western Road for a dj set featuring all new material.
