Trouble Over Tokyo: Farewell Tour | Wie klingt es, wenn man "die existentialistischen Momente Thom Yorkes mit der sexuellen Aufgeladenheit Justin Timberlakes kombiniert"? Wie TROUBLE OVER TOKYO. Es war der ehrwürdige britische "Guardian", der zur Musik des in Wien lebenden Engländers Toph Taylor aka TROUBLE OVER TOKYO diesen Vergleich zog. Indielectro-Angstpop nennt der Ausnahmesänger und Soundtüftler selbst die Arbeiten seiner Ein-Mann-Band, die sich nach 3 Produktionen ("Pyramides" hievte ihn u.a. aufs Cover von The Gap und wurde zum FM4 Album der Woche gekürt) nun mit einer finalen, für das Frühjahr 2012 angekündigten EP vorerst verabschiedet.

Mit genialischer Finesse und überschäumender Kreativität sprengt ToT die Genregrenzen zwischen Indie, Singer-Songwriting und Electro, pendelt gekonnt zwischen Club und Melancholie. Wozu MUSE eine Heerschar an Produzenten brauchen, das erledigt TROUBLE OVER TOKYO als Ein-Mann-Band. Schlicht atemberaubend.

Umso überraschender daher nun die Ankündigung einer Farewell-Tour. Wobei: Wie Toph versichert, beendet er "nur" sein Projekt ToT - also auf zu neuen Ufern? Wir wollen es hoffen!

E.P. to be Trouble Over Tokyo's final work

Hey people!!
I'd like to announce a couple of things, to let you know what's going on here in Toph world... I'll be releasing a new E.P. !! It will, however, be Trouble Over Tokyo's last release. As many of you know I had been working on a new album, but I've decided to condense this to the strongest tracks, and bring it out sooner to you all. So yeah, the final piece in the Trouble Over Tokyo puzzle will be here soon!

The E.P. will be available at first only at shows - this is mainly for organisational reasons - from April onwards. After that, I'll make it available online, k?

Please note!! This is NOT the end of me (Toph) making music!! It's just that, to me, Trouble Over Tokyo as a project has to me arrived at a point where I don't feel the NEED to create more songs... and I always said to myself that making music or art just for the sake of doing it, is not enough. I need to NEED to make my art, otherwise the music and art will suffer... and I never want that to happen!

To celebrate the final release of ToT, I'll be doing a special LAST tour. The dates for this are already very soon, some dates are already up on the "Tour dates" page... I'll also be selling a vintage ToT brand of T-shirts, which will be available with the E.P.

So basically, please come to these shows! Get the new E.P. there!! They could be the last ToT shows EVER!!!
