As the frontman of Idlewild, Roddy Woomble’s 2 top ten albums and 12 top forty singles is an astonishing achievement.
With his solo album’s Roddy has begun to explore a different side to his music with his acclaimed folk albums “The Impossible Song” and “Before The Ruin” with Kris Drever and John McCusker. As the driving force of Chemikal Underground’s “Ballad of The Books”, his love of books and words makes him the perfect fit for Margins Book & Music Festival. He’s joined by prodigious folk guitarist Sorren MacLean. He’s supported by the brilliant Withered Hand, who has supported the likes of Jeffrey Lewis, King Creosote, Herman Dune, Calvin Johnson, Little Wings and Malcolm Middleton. His debut LP “Good News” has been a major indie hit in both the UK and the US. Completing this stellar lineup is the demon-fingered folk guitarist Alasdair Roberts who has been a central figure in UK folk music for the last ten years with albums like “The Crook of My Arm”.
