The legendary space rockers have announced a mini reunion tour for November.

Gong founder Daevid Allen has called on former bandmates Steve Hillage, Gilli Smyth, Mike Howlett, Miquette Giraudy, Chris Taylor, Theo Travis and John McKenzie, to mark the band’s 40th anniversary of live touring, since their formation in 1967.

This will be Gong’s first UK tour since 2001.

The tour will come shortly after the release of Gong’s forthcoming new album, “2032”, expected in September.

Shame the bill wasn't reversed, Hillage was unassumingly brilliant, but Gong was unlistenable soupy space-jazz. Still, one out of two ain't bad, if your one is Steve Hillage on electric guitar.
